Tacoma Community College

Location and description of area: Tacoma Community College, established in 1965, is a fully accredited state school that has won national recognition for academic excellence. The College offers studies in English Language as well as programs leading to an Associate Degree (for university transfer) or a technical certificate. A well-staffed International Office provides comprehensive services for international students, which include airport pickup, housing placement, and counseling on academic, vocational and personal matters. International students are welcome to participate in all campus events and programs, including athletics, clubs, and student government, and to use all campus facilities such as the library, computer labs, and fitness center. Tacoma Community College is located 35 miles (56 kilometers) south of Seattle, in the City of Tacoma, a safe and friendly place to live and study.
