Pierce College

Location and description of area: We invite you to study at Pierce College, a public 2-year community college established in 1967. Pierce College has two campuses, one in Lakewood and the other in Puyallup; both are safe and friendly cities situated a short distance south of Seattle. The surrounding area is suburban, and both campuses feature lots of open space, trees, nature trails, and wonderful views of water and mountains. The cities of Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Canada, are easy weekend destinations. Hiking, boating, cycling, snowboarding and skiing are popular outdoor activities; urban pursuits include theatre, music, art, professional sports and shopping.

Total student population: Approximately 8000 full time and 20,000 part-time students.

International student population: Approximately 200, from over 20 different countries.

Programs offered: Intensive English (ESL) Program; 2-Year Associate's Degree (for university transfer); Professional/Technical Degree and Certificate Programs; Fast Track High School Completion Program.
